Karachi is a big city with small details that make or break a moving day. Here's what our crews — who move families here every week — want every Karachi-ite to know before shifting.
Pick Your Date Wisely
The last week of any month is peak season: leases end, possessions overlap, and the best crews get booked first. If your dates are flexible, a mid-month move gets you easier scheduling and unhurried crews. Sundays fill fastest of all.
Buildings Have Rules — Learn Them Early
- Many societies and apartment buildings require advance intimation for a move, especially for trucks entering gates.
- Lift timings matter: some buildings restrict lift use to specific hours. Tell your mover — a good one will plan the crew size around it.
- Walk-up buildings (no lift) need more crew and more time. Declaring the floor honestly keeps your quotation accurate.
Know Your Areas, Know Your Truck
Wide lanes in DHA or Bahria Town suit large vehicles easily; older areas with narrow streets may need a Shahzore plus a shuttle plan. This is why a proper survey — not a phone guess — is the basis of an honest quotation.
Same-Day Moves Are Normal — With the Right Plan
A typical 2—3 bedroom apartment move within Karachi completes in one day: packing starts in the morning, the truck is loaded by early afternoon, and unpacking begins at the new home by evening. Full house moves or long cross-city hauls may run into a second day — your survey will tell you which you're dealing with.
Prepare a "First Night Box"
Bed sheets, towels, chargers, basic toiletries, tea kit, and a change of clothes for everyone. This one box — carried in your own car, not the truck — turns the first night in your new home from chaos into comfort.
Photograph Meters and Hand Over Carefully
Photograph electricity, gas and water meter readings at both the old and new home on move day. And only hand over keys after the final walkthrough — with your crew still on site for any last placements.
The best moving days feel boring: planned, punctual, packed, done. That's the standard we hold our crews to on every Karachi move.
